I already knew that we live in an extremely narcissistic society in which we bow down to the almighty dollar , but it was made blatantly clear in the film. I also know that we have devalued sexual intimacy, but I had not realized that would also be a large focus of the film. With my Catholic background, people sometimes consider my views on sex to be prudish, but this documentary takes a secular approach to some of the problems resulting from this over-sexed society. The documentary throws a lot of information at the viewer in a short hour and forty-five minute time frame. Likewise, women are selling their bodies as an easy route to wealth, not realizing all that they are giving up in the process. Filmmaker and photographer, Lauren Greenfield, interviewed Florian Homm, a German man who was a successful businessman, only to eventually have a warrant out for his arrest by the US for fraud. He did end up in prison in Italy for a time. He now lives in Germany, which he explains is his larger prison, since he cannot be extradited from Germany, but he also cannot travel as a result of his warrant. He speaks of the time when he was supposedly at a the top of his game, and how he could purchase anything he ever wanted. He begins reminiscing on his first sexual experience with a prostitute at 14 years old.
